I was very saddened to hear of the death of Jerry Reed a few days ago. A superb guitarist that made things so easy to play, yet when you tried to pick the tunes your fingers struggled for weeks. I’ve struggled through The Claw and still find it a challenge. Just some blues changes it appears to the ear but there is some great stuff going on. Try this video with Chet Atkins playing Jerry’s Breakdown. And then this later live version of The Claw. Outstanding musicianship and he will be missed by guitar pickers everywhere.
