Finger warm up is essential for every time you are ready to play guitar! It prevents injury and improves your playing ability. Stretching exercises can be done with or without a guitar. I like to do 4 sets of ten stretching exercises before playing guitar. I simply spread my fingers by pressing on the back of the neck of the guitar all the way to where the web of my fingers is touching the neck and then rotate the wrist up and down to get a real nice stretch. This helps to make playing chords easy!
