Via Invisible Oranges, I discovered a treasure trove of artists who have covered the lads’ Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap. A few of the tracks I had come across before but one stuck out. A version by Lesley Gore. Yes, the Lesley Its My Party Gore. From the album When Pigs Fly, a collection of seemingly unlikely covers. Have a listen. Of all the other tunes, I admit to being partial the the very ‘eavy metal band Exodus’ trashy, crunchy cover. Bang your head. And that talk of Dirty Deeds reminded me of the rockin’ Tex Perkins/You Am I version for the 2002 film of the same name.
