Book Keeping

Today there was a book bazar at the the local Sea Scouts hall (Supposedly like sea monkeys but with the ability to tie knots so I’ve been told). All books were $2 we wandered down to try our luck. I picked up some interesting tomes. I’m going to start a philosophical tussles with Roland Barthes (I found a copy of Image-Music-Text) and a 1954 book on (then) modern music. But the one book that I had to get wasn’t musical. It was Introduction to Philosophy by Oswald Kulpe. The cover had a few round marks were someone had placed a drink and the pages are yellowing. But it was a 1907 edition and I had to have it because it was 101 years old. Philosophy had moved on a little since 1907 but, for some reason, it is a wonderful book to hold. And if it has survived 101 years including lurking in a library, then it deserves to find a home.
