There was a time in America when the piano was as popular as the television is now. I defy you to name another 700 hundred-year-old machine besides the piano that has sits in people's living rooms. What device, the shoe? The spoon? What machine with thousands of moving parts is comparable in any way to the piano, and has been in our lives since the Renaissance?
